I received a very special invitation a few days ago: To be an Honorable Guest at the Moy Lin Mah Family Ceremony. And I call this invitation special, because if at first what I felt good about in this Kung Fu Family was the figure of Si Suk Ursula. Soon afterwards, the welcoming of his To Dai, also made me feel at home. That is why, throughout the past decade, I am proud to say that I participated in several moments of this Kung Fu Family. And because of that, whenever I was invited to be a Honorable Guest of some Moy Lin Mah Family Ceremony, I always received the invitation with joy. However, how to carry out a Traditional Ceremony, at a time like this where we are living?
The Moy Lin Mah Family had two different cameras filming those present at Mo Gun in Copacabana from two different angles. In daddition, it placed me and the other two Honorable Guests, highlighted on the ZOOM sceen. Everyone else who was there to watch [including family members] was minimized on the screen and without image and sound on their microphones. It was, in fact, an inspiring organization because in the meantime, those present at Mo Gun watched and listened to the considerations through a TV set on the wall [photo].
My Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz, who was one of the special guests, drew attention to the level of organization of a TV show.
Some members of the Moy Jo Lei Ou Clan were present attending the event and others even participating directly, as was the case with Claudio Teixeira [photo] my Kung Fu brother and Director of the Ipanema School. He was the advisor of Vitor Antonio for his access to the Mui Fa Jong Domain.
Naquela manhã, Fernanda Lima, Heitor Furtado e Vitor Antonio, acessaram o Domínio Mui Fa Jong.
That morning, Fernanda Lima, Heitor Furtado and Vitor Antonio, accessed the Mui Fa Jong Domain.
In the image above, we see the moment when at the request of her Si Fu, Master Ursula Lima. Helena C. Ribeiro, demonstrates the beginning of the sequence of movements of the main component in the wooden dummy [Muk Yan Jong].
While watching Helena perform the movements, two things occurred to me: One of them is that I made this demonstration myself at the request of my Si Suk Ursula at the Ceremony that gave Helena access to the same Domain, a few years ago. And besides, it is from that same Muk Yan Jong that Si Suk Ursula learned the same sequence.
About the Honorable Guests, they are guests of honor who attend the entire course of a Ceremonial Act, and at the time indicated by the script or at the request of the Si Fu of the Family that invited them. They made some words of awareness for the practitioners, in order to help them in becoming aware of their new moment in the System's journey.
When I turned on the camera, I found myself surrounded by two very important figures from the Grand Clan Moy Yat Sang: One of them was Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz and the other was Si Suk Maria Cristina. Just the fact that they are from a generation above mine, brought me a great need to be aware of what I would say and how I would say it. In addition, Si Suk Ursula at the opening announced me as a representative also of my Si Fu, that she could not be online that morning.
Si Suk Maria Cristina through soft and delicate words, praised and punctuated what she found relevant for the promoters that morning. Si Suk Ricardo Queiroz was more assertive that morning. And I think everyone is always impressed by his ability to pay attention to every single detail that occurs at a Ceremony. It's impressive.
For me, all Si Gung's work in implementing the Ceremonial Acts and adjusting them to the new times is becoming increasingly clear. As incredible as it may seem, it has been precisely because of this moment of need for social distance, that many Kung Fu families are rethinking and reframing the paradigms proposed by Si Gung. So that regardless of the adjustment that is made, it can respect the moment that we live. However, without losing the potentials that are carried in a Ceremonial Act as a strategic instrument.
